4/19/22 - made an appt for an oil change.....everything went smooth as always. Appointment time was convenient and I was in and out in... less than 30 minutesEarlier postD & R is my go to place for car service. They will truly work to get to the bottom of any issue you have. My most recent experience was an oil change due to the fact that I couldn't get a timely appt with Hyundai. Plus I also needed a new tire due to a blow out. Prior to this visit, D & R was able to diagnose an issue with my Nissan (2005) that three different Nissan dealerships could not accurately diagnose. It took 3 different visits and process of elimination of what they thought would fix it, before it was accurately diagnosed. The bottom line is that they didn't give up. My Nissan now drives again like a dream.read more

Seriously so impressed with D&R Car Care. I have been a loyal customer for over 2 years now and have not come across better work or... customer service, even when traveling back home. I've been to places where they throw on charges because they think you are "young & dumb" but I have not once felt taken advantage of at this shop. They're always extremely friendly and are even willing to go in depth with you on your cars report to make sure you know what is wrong and how they're going to fix it, even providing a quote before they do the work! They also took the time to call my grandad who lived out of town and was paying for the work I needed done and let him know all of the things that were wrong & explained it to him in full detail. They even send you a digitized report with pictures of all the issues with absolutely NO pressure to get the work done right then. You can tell as soon as you walk through the door that this is a family-oriented business that provides awesome services with the best customer service. Will continue to come back! My brakes started scraping a few weeks back. Took my jeep to D&R Intensive Car Care to get new brakes. They asked if they could do a full... inspection while they had my jeep. Needless to say, I needed a lot of work. Instead of saying everything was critical and needed to be fixed right away, I was given a timeline of when each repair should be made. The only critical repairs were the brakes and pads. Very nice to go to an auto shop and not be taken advantage of. Their honesty and willingness to work with me was very refreshing. I had an unexpected encounter with this garage recently. I was traveling through Georgia and had a vehicle breakdown. I called AAA for... roadside assistance and towing, and they recommended D&R as the nearest garage that could work on my vehicle. My vehicle was towed there and they did their best to get me back on the road. Unfortunately, the part had to be ordered which required an overnight stay, but they were more than willing to take me to a motel and then come and get me and bring me back to the garage the next morning. Ashleigh was very helpful -- actually, the whole staff was -- but she went above and beyond to help get me out the door and back on the road as soon as possible. These folks were more than helpful to a traveler who broke down more than 500 miles from home. From what I could tell, they have a pretty loyal and dedicated clientele and were very busy when I was there, but they certainly worked me in and did their best to get me back on my way. I appreciate the great work they did. Nothing against them, obviously, but I hope to never have to do business with them again. But if I do find myself in the Statesboro, GA area and need my car worked on, I know where I'm going. Affordable prices for oil changes. Ive been going to them for a number of years off and on and they were always nice and service is fast.
I had made an appointment for a week out (they were busy, first avail I guess) and called the day before to confirm I would be dropping off... the van/key after hours due to some acceleration issues. After dropping off the key in the drop box, I found out that nobody even knew the van was there the entire day because I didn't fill out the paperwork. I didn't even know there was a cabinet up top, nor was it obvious in the dark and with an appointment and confirming with staff - you would think it should not be difficult to figure out a stray Toyota key in the drop box. But OK, I'll accept that's my fault even though it was questionable. I was charged $104 for the diagnostic, even though most places build that into the labor if you go ahead and do the work. I received a long drawn out text link confirmation where I had to go through hoops to agree to it on my phone instead of just talking with the person who was working on the car or a human. Some items were ridiculous like $79+ for an air filter replacement. The cost wasn't the issue - it's the fact that I have a lifetime drop-in K&N air filter that never needs to be replaced. Had someone truly inspected it, it would have been noticed. I also had a battery recommendation of $197, which G&T Auto supply on Hwy 80 did for me for $124 installed in 5 minutes. The work I did agree to seems to be done fine and kudos to the mechanics at least. Without embarrassing anyone in particular, I found the front staff lacking in car knowledge or seemingly indifferent to any explanation of the issues that I continue to repeat. I pretty much already diagnosed the issue, check engine code and was just trying to getting an estimate, not asking for a 1000 point inspection. Ray did text me to explain the diag charge and how others build that into the price. OK - then build it into the price if that's how everyone else does it. I don't know - they're busy for a reason, I guess they must be doing right. But, I will not repeat.read more
